Sporal-A autoclave test
The Sporal A biological test is used for periodic verification of the effectiveness of the sterilization process in an autoclave, which is one of the most important safety measures for both staff and patients.
Properties and recommendations for the Sporal A test:A small paper indicator has been saturated with a suspension of Geobacillus stearothermophilus spores, which is contained in a sterile paper-foil package measuring 5 cm x 5 cm.To perform the test correctly, two unopened indicators should be placed in the autoclave in a location difficult for the sterilizing agent (e.g., pressurized steam) to reach. Alternatively, the tests can be placed in two different instrument packs.Sterilization takes place on any program (121°C or 134°C).A third indicator is not subjected to sterilization, but it serves as a control indicator and, along with the other indicators, is sent to the laboratory for culturing, inoculation, and test evaluation. The indicators should be delivered to the laboratory no later than 24 hours after sterilization. The autoclave test should be performed at least once every 3 months. The test result is required by Sanepid during inspections.Tests should also be performed after repairs or renovations of the autoclave. The use of tests is also required when the autoclave shows improper operation.Recommendations also require performing Sporal A tests when the person operating the autoclave changes.
The price is for one test unit.
Sporal-A Autoclave Test – A reliable way to check the effectiveness of sterilization
Sporal-A Autoclave Test is a high-quality biological test used for periodic checking of the effectiveness of the sterilization process in autoclaves. Regular performance of this test is a key element in ensuring the safety of both staff and patients in medical facilities. The test is required by the Sanepid (State Sanitary Inspection) during inspections, and it should be performed at least once every 3 months or after an autoclave repair to confirm the proper functioning of the device.
Properties and application of the Sporal-A test
The Sporal-A test contains a small paper indicator soaked in a suspension of Geobacillus stearothermophilus spores, which is used to check the effectiveness of sterilization. The indicator is placed in sterile paper-foil packaging measuring 5 cm x 5 cm. To perform the test correctly, two unpackaged indicators should be placed in hard-to-reach areas of the autoclave, where the sterilizing agent, such as steam under pressure, has more difficulty reaching. The tests can also be placed in two different instrument packs. A third indicator, which is not subjected to sterilization, serves as a control indicator that should be delivered to the laboratory for culturing and incubation to determine the test result.
Requirements and procedure for performing the test
The Sporal-A test can be performed on any sterilization program (121°C or 134°C). After the sterilization process, the indicators should be delivered to the laboratory within 24 hours for analysis of the results. Tests should be performed regularly, at least once every three months or after each autoclave repair, as well as in the event of detecting improper operation of the device. The use of Sporal-A tests is also recommended when the person operating the autoclave changes.
